Abarth's Giandomenico Basso will not contest his home Intercontinental Rally Challenge event in Sanremo, Italy.
The team will instead send the Grande Punto Super 2000 to the simultaneous Elpa Rally in Greece, part of the European Rally Championship.
With two rounds remaining on the IRC calendar, Abarth can no longer fight for the manufacturers' title after Peugeot claimed that crown while fourth-placed Basso is no longer in contention for the drivers' championship crown.
The Italian has participated in the ERC alongside the IRC this season and currently holds second place, five points behind series leader Michal Solowow.
Luca Rossetti will drive for Abarth in Sanremo while talented guest driver Francois Duval takes over a sister car.
