Former Scotland Star Dies

Former Scotland scrum-half Brian Shillinglaw has died at the age of 68.

Shillinghaw, who began his career in rugby union, switched codes early in his career and played professionally for Whitehaven and Wigan.

He won five caps in union for Scotland, facing Ireland on his debut in 1960 before appearing against England, France and South Africa on two occasions.

He also made 65 appearances for Gala Wanderers and appeared for the Army team before joining the paid ranks in 1961.
