Brian Ashton has made just the one enforced change to the England side to face South Africa in the World Cup final on Saturday night bringing in Sale Sharks' Mark Cueto to replace the injured Josh Lewsey.

Cueto, who started the tournament at fullback but has not played in either the quarter or semi finals, has been brought into the side as a straight switch for Lewsey, who limped off during the 14-9 win over France last Saturday night with a hamstring injury.

"I would have played in the front row if they had asked me," Cueto said, adding he felt he had a point to prove after not performing to his peak in the pool phase.

Explaining the selection, Ashton said: "Mark has played a lot of international rugby in the back three and we can expect a fair old aerial bombardment. Experience in that position is quite important."

Dan Hipkiss, who drew praise when he came on as cover at centre during the France match with Mathew Tait moving to the wing, has been named on the bench once again.

The ever-dependable Jason Robinson remains at full back after a consummate performance against Les Bleus in a bid to counter the threat of speedy Springbok wingers Bryan Habana and JP Pietersen.

London Irish veteran Mike Catt, who picked up a groin strain during the semi, has been passed fit and retains his spot at inside centre.
