Point not enough for Pearson

Sun, 18 Oct 12:59:03 2009

Leicester manager Nigel Pearson expressed frustration that his team's dominant display against Derby brought them only one point.

The Foxes played the better football and created numerous chances throughout. But Stephen Bywater in the Derby goal was not forced to make a save of any note during the goalless draw at the Walkers Stadium.

Pearson accused the Rams of showing a lack of ambition, but expected his side to show enough guile to win.

"They probably got what they came for, so in that sense it's frustrating," said Pearson.

"We didn't ask enough questions of them I suppose, but we were by far the better side over the 90 minutes and were probably the only side trying to win it.

"But this kind of game shows what the Championship is all about. It's a tough league, but we expect ourselves to win a game like that.

"They worked hard to break the tempo up, but there's no doubt in my mind we were the better side. However, we have to take it on the chin and get ready for the next match against Crystal Palace on Tuesday night."

  1. how about only paying them when they win perhaps there might be a few more genuine players then and not just leaches

  2. Exactly the words I posted after the game yesterday. It's time Milan Mandaric put his money where his mouth is. He promised to cough up to get us back into the premiership, but he's doing the typical 'shy with the pennies' trick and relying on pensioners and work experience candidates.
Quality comes at a price, and if Mandy isn't prepared to pay up, then he better get himself prepared for another spell like the last one we spent in the championship.
    Drawn games result in relegation!
