Bristol City boss Gary Johnson has vowed to only bring in players in the next transfer window if the quality and value is right.Johnson has predicted a quiet January on the transfer front and is even less likely to bring in anyone on loan, although the club will continue searching for suitable signings.
He told the club's official website: "We're always busy looking (for players) but the important thing is you don't bring anybody in who's not better than the ones currently here.
"I don't think there will be lots of business because January is a bad time to bring people in because the players whose contracts are running out are free in summer, but so many millions in January.
"It needs to be the right people at the right time and if nobody comes in then it won't be because we haven't been out there looking - it will be because we feel they won't improve our squad.
"I don't like loans (for incoming transfers) if I can help it, especially with the group we've got now. They're either young lads from the Premiership, who aren't ready for the top-end of the Championship, or players that other clubs don't want."
