Everton manager David Moyes has been fined £5,000 by the FA for improper conduct.
The Toffees boss was sent to the stands during a Premier League clash with Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium on September 14.
Everton survived a stirring comeback from Stoke to edge the game 3-2 but Moyes was left seething by referee Alan Wiley's failure to award his side a penalty - a decision which television replays later showed to be incorrect.
Wiley subsequently contacted Moyes to offer his apologies for making the mistake, prompting the Everton manager to appeal the charge levied at him.
But an FA disciplinary commission chose to throw out the appeal, order Moyes to pay a fine and warn him over his future conduct.
A statement on the FA's website read: "In reaching its decision, the Commission said that it was taking into account Moyes's good disciplinary record, his admission of the charge and his apology."
Moyes told the club's official website: "I believe I received a fair hearing although, in truth, I don't believe it was necessary to charge me."

Another reason why TV should be used! Incorrect decisions by referees can ultimately cost clubs millions of pounds if, say, they end up being relegated which, in turn, can cost jobs. In cricket, rugby and tennis, the participants are allowed - within reason - to query the validity of decisions and an additional official is consulted. What makes the FA believe that only it's officials are perfect? (symptomatic of the FA in general!) The law of England upholds the right to free speech, but, yet again, the FA holds itself above the law of the land! If Moyes' language was improper, that was probably borne of the frustration that the arrogant, dogmatic megalomaniac in black would not accept that he had made a mistake. (but afterwards realised he had the apologised!!!) Maybe referees should be fined for making mistakes - after all, the FA believes them to be foolproof, so if they make errors, they have breached the terms of their employment......
The FA needs to eat a large helping of humble pie and apologise to Moyes!
Do you see the other side of the road (liverpool) get fined
No. managers need to accept the ref's decision and move on within the game. Critics must be left for later. Good on the ref for making the phone call, but Moyes was and is guilty of misconduct, and the fact the ref's decision was wrong does not make that misconduct acceptable.
not a toffee fan. But didn't Wiley admit his guilt, by apologising to Moyes? Doesn't this sound like somebody being prosecuted for defending themslves against an assault? Just goes to show that the FA need to see a craniologist and a proctalogist at the same time, we are still waiting to see what action thay are takingh against Burnley and their fans. Drogba received a 3 match ban, shouldn't Burnley fans receive the same, it is not the first time they have been accused of coin tossing at a game is it?
Pinguser1 - Don't be daft if this was the case why has fergie received a 3 match ban?
This is becoming really stupid. The authorities are begining to seek God-Like powers.
Whether they are wrong or right, one has to not complaint. What is justice when one has no right to claim their innoncent ,and backing it up with evidence?
Afetr every evidence has proved ,Moyes was right, still they are punishing him for protesting his innoncent
This can not be allowed to happen.
Spot on Harry at 10. This is a must now for football although the 4th official will probably be told he has made a mistake then. You cannot win as that is all the clubs want to do, not entertain. I also believe the sin bin for 10 mins is another good option. 18 stone forwards have respect for the refs in rugby and you rarely see an argument. If there was I think he can extend it. Can you imagine the hairdryer managers in the dressing room if a goal was scored when one or two players are serving time. It would spice up the game no end and you might get a few more goals instead of these scared draws.
I truly believe that this is very unfair for Mr Moyes for he made the remark in the heat of the moment after an incorrect decision by the referee
an individul should not judge a referee.football is a game of continuous action.the man at the centre during playtime is the final judge.FA should maintain decision
Most of the refs seem to be very short, and they all seem to make lots of wrong decisions, maybe because they cannot see above most of the players?
I think that football should follow Rugby League and go to the Video ref,
It would not slow the game down, and the correct decision would be made.
But would it make to many refs look a fool? on there bad decisions.

Pinguser1 - I take by your reference to the best manager on merseyside as a waiter that you are a typical BLUE NOSE hopin to eventually win somethin!!!!!
Referee's decision should be final. There should not be replays. Moyes deserves everything given to him. Up the VILLA
typical! a referee @#$% it up admits he cocked it up yet the manager gets a fine. has any appeal ever been succesful, or is this another money-making scheme for the F.A? you can guarantee if Daves surname was Wenger,Ferguson, scolari (or he was a fat spanish waiter) the charge would never have been brought.same old same old that drives supporters everywhere nuts................
