Grimsby's run of four successive league victories was ended as a determined Dagenham outfit held them to a goalless draw at Victoria Road.A dire first half saw neither side create any chances with two Ben Strevens off-target headers the best the home side could manage.
The action did improve after the break as Nick Hegarty forced a fine save from Ed Thompson, while James Hunt's close-range effort was deflected wide.
The introduction of Jamie Taylor saw Dagenham up the tempo as he lobbed just over the bar, before hitting the woodwork with a header.
Sam Sloma also struck the post late on and Glen Southam fizzed an effort over the bar as they failed to break the deadlock.
