Barmby does not expect further arrivals

Hull manager Nick Barmby will not be adding any more players to his squad during the January transfer window.

The Tigers have signed striker Joshua King, 21, on loan from Manchester United and goalkeeper Trevor Carson, 23, as temporary cover for Adriano Basso and Peter Gulacsi, who are sidelined with knee injuries.

Barmby told the club's official website: "I'm happy with the players I've got.

"You look at players that are thrown at you and think `are they better than what we've got?'

"The ones that have been mentioned - I don't think they are."

  1. eight out the the ten defeats we have suffered has been by one goal,if the team had a proven goalscorer we could possibly have got something from these games.
Leaving things as they are,a negative mid table finish would seem to be the only thing to look forward to

  4. I think your asking a lot of king if your expecting him to do what no one as done for two seasons now and thats score lots of goal to get us some points unless of course as the interested party states have you settled for survival rather that promotion as i've pointed out previously if you intend to try for promotion it could come down to goal difference so the tigers at present don't stand a chance it's only luck that with the few goals scored we are in the playoffs at present you might as well give Pearson his old striker back because he's a waste of time but please don't let him have Stewart at any price

  5. Sorry Nick, but only by trawling down to the club twelfth in the division can you find a team with a worst goal difference. I hope that it's just a bluff on your part, but we need a proven striker (or two) as a matter of urgency. I know that money is tight, but think of the revenue from a Wembley play off game.....or even a return to the top flight! ! ! An unknown and untested youngster in on loan doesn't capture the imagination, and I don't see it frightening the opposing defences. I'll keep my fingers crossed, but it already seems to me that a mediocre mid table finish is the newly adjusted target - please prove me wrong.
