Bluebirds boss welcomes cup draw

Tue 19 Feb, 05:15 PM

Boss Dave Jones has warned Cardiff City's FA Cup quarter-final opponents they will have a "game on their hands".The Bluebirds face a trip to either Middlesbrough or Sheffield United after reaching the last eight of the competition for the first time in 81 years.

"We would have liked to have been at home, but any game at this round would be a tough tie," Jones told the club's official website.

Premier League Boro held the Blades to a goalless draw at Bramall Lane on Sunday to force a replay at the Riverside Stadium.

Asked if Gareth Southgate's were now favourites to progress, Jones replied: "You would expect them to but results have shown over the last few rounds it doesn't always go that way, so whichever one it is will have a game on their hands and we will just wait and see which one comes out of the hat for us.

"It's no good worrying about who you are going to get or who you are not going to get, if you get this far in the competition it doesn't really matter."
