Aberdeen manager Jimmy Calderwood has promised to field an attacking side for the UEFA Cup second-leg clash with Bayern Munich. The Dons twice took the lead with a positive first-half display against the German side at Pittodrie last week - and there will be no damage limitation at the Allianz-Arena.
Calderwood paired Lee Miller and Darren Mackie up front against Bayern with on-loan Birmingham winger Sone Aluko causing the Germans problems with his direct running.
A goalless draw is no use to the Dons on Thursday and Calderwood will put out a team with plenty of forward-thinking players.
Calderwood told RedTV: "We have got to defend when we have to defend, and a lot better than we have been doing.
"But the bottom line is we have got to win the game so hopefully it won't be a blanket defence.
"I say hopefully, it definitely won't be with the players we are selecting, that's a certainty.
"If they are putting pressure on us everyone has to defend at the right moment, but we will have enough attacking players on the park to try to win the game."
Bayern, the tournament favourites, maintained their position at the top of the Bundesliga with a 3-0 win over Hanover on Sunday, with Luca Toni bagging a hat-trick.
Aberdeen, on the other hand, lost 3-1 at Hibernian, making it 12 goals against in three consecutive domestic defeats.
But Calderwood does not expect Bayern to write off the Dons in the last 32-clash and thought his team's performance at Easter Road was among their best on the road this season.
Calderwood said: "I think they got a bit of a fright the last time and I'm sure they will be professional about it this time, but every team can get beaten on their day.
"They got a very good result at Hanover at the weekend, which is not an easy place to go in Germany.
"The good thing is the football was back at the weekend, we were creating chances.
"We have got nothing whatsoever to lose. If we get beaten three or four nil then everyone in Europe will just say it's a normal result."
The Dons will be without Jamie Smith, who has lost his battle against a hamstring injury but Richard Foster returns from a similar problem and Andrew Considine should recover from illness.
"Jamie Smith was very close to making it but he was still feeling the injury a bit and I can't take the chance," added Calderwood.
"Jamie has been a bit of a talisman for us this season and he is a very important player, but he was still feeling it and if he played and injured it he could be over and out for the season."
