Andrew Davies admits he is relishing the prospect of linking up with Nigel Pearson for a second time and has described him as a "good guy".Pearson was appointed as Saints' new manager on Monday following George Burley's departure last month to take over the reins with Scotland and he has a real task on his hands as he attempts to steer the club towards the upper echelons of the Championship table.
But Davies, who worked with Pearson in the England Under-19 side, feels he is perfectly equipped for the role.
"His man-management was good when he was with England, helping the players with their game and taking time to chat with them," Davies told the club's official website.
"He worked extremely hard and expected the same from the players. It seems like a good appointment to me and I am sure he will get things turned around quickly.
"It was a bit of a shock when the announcement was made as we had not heard any rumours but he is a good guy and I am sure he can bring good things to the club."
