Doncaster defender Sam Hird has returned to the Keepmoat Stadium following his three-month loan spell at League Two outfit Grimsby.The 20-year-old former Leeds trainee, signed on a permanent basis after a loan spell by Rovers last summer, has proved a big hit at Blundell Park.
Grimsby manager Alan Buckley said: "He's been fantastic for us. He's been all of what I had expected when he first joined us.
"I've been really pleased with him. He's a smashing lad and a pleasure to work with."
Hird has made 18 appearances for the Mariners during his stint with the club.
