Brighton and Huddersfield pulled further away from the League One relegation zone with home wins over Cheltenham and Millwall.
The Seagulls came from behind with late goals by Glen Murray and Joel Lynch after Cheltenham had threatened to hold on to a third minute lead given to them by Steve Brooker.
Brooker fired the visitors in front from the edge of the area, Steve Gillespie and former Aston Villa full back Alan Wright also going close for the visitors.
The hosts edged their way back into the match with Murray hitting the bar before he converted Lynch's late punt with ten minutes left.
And Lynch completed the comeback with a header on 88 minutes to leave Cheltenham in 18th, three points above 21st-placed Gillingham.
A penalty by Luke Beckett, meanwhile, was the difference between the Terriers and Millwall, who now lie one point above the bottom four.
It was Town's fifth win in six matches, Beckett winning and scoring the spot-kick after being fouled by Zak Whitbread.
The former Chesterfield, Barnsley, Stockport and Sheffield United striker also forced a good save from Rhys Evans, while team-mate Robert Page saw a header cleared off the line by Mark Laird. Ahmet Brkovic went close for the Lions.
Huddersfield move up five places into 13th, one point above Brighton in 12th.
Carlisle's home clash with high-flying Nottingham Forest was postponed due to a frozen pitch.
