On the last day of this week’s test session Nick Heidfeld again worked on the set-up of the BMW Sauber F1.09.
The German veteran concentrated on the suspension and aerodynamics. He also did a couple of practice starts and ended the day with long runs, pushing the total mileage for the eight days of testing up to 3,695 km. His work was however interrupted twice due to mechanical problems.
Heidfeld completed 122 laps with a best time of 1:32.225s. The next scheduled test will see the team in action in Jerez from Sunday 1st March to Thursday 5th March.
Nick Heidfeld
“Today the track conditions were the best they have been all week. We could already try a couple of improvements. The car reacts to changes as planned, so I’m confident we are working in the right direction.”
Willy Rampf, BMW Sauber Technical Coordinator
"Although we lost some time due to a sandstorm last week, the long test in Bahrain was very productive. We could work with the cars in temperatures we would not have encountered in Europe at this time of the year, making it good preparation for the first races of the upcoming season."
"We worked mainly on the general set-up of the BMW Sauber F1.09, trying numerous solutions on the mechanical and aero side of the car as well as gaining experience with the three available tyre compounds. We also made good progress with KERS. Overall we reached our target of collecting as much data as possible about the car’s reactions to changes in the set-up.”

Marnio from Peru, potter, F1 police, b.thebuilder...marion...who are you?
Why so many identities???
Lewis Hamilton won.
The umpires have declared it.
Move on without the abuse, the language.
Lewis must have some talent, otherwise you and I would be driving in F1!!!
Peace & love,
from Stephen in Australia
Hi Marion, potter (quite appropiate when you think about it really), F1 police, b.thebuilder, clispyduck or whoever you think you are...
Why the continued abuse of drivers, teams in F1???
Do you have a life??? Do you have a family???
Do you have any further interests outside of Ferrari???
We look forward to intelligent & constructive comments about F1, not the rants of a lunatic!
If you are so passionate about your issues, either take it up direct with the FIA, or build a web site about it...
But please leave these forums for other users for constructive purposes not your small minded historical issues.
Thank you
"Overall we reached our target of collecting as much data as possiable about the car's reactions to changes in the set-up" Nick, were you able to make changes to the set up that made the car any faster?
