Boss 'devastated' over Bloomfield

Wycombe manager Paul Lambert has admits "the timing could not have been worse" after midfielder Matty Bloomfield's recent injury setback.The midfielder is out of contract in the summer but was due to open contract negotiations with the club before suffering the cruciate knee ligament injury which has ended his season.

Lambert told the club's official website: "The timing could not have been worse.

"He is going to miss the vital run-in to the end of the season and he's obviously concerned about his immediate future - but I'm sure that the club will do the right thing.

"This is terrible news for the lad.

"Matty has been a huge player for me and he never gives less than 100%. He's one of the most popular players with the fans and everyone will be devastated to hear this news."
