Port Vale manager Lee Sinnott could welcome back Adam Eckersley for Thursday's trip to Prenton Park to take on play-off-chasing Tranmere. The defender lasted 72 minutes on his comeback from an ankle problem for the reserves in their game against Wolves earlier in the week and may come into contention.
Sinnott has no new injury or suspension worries to contend with and will otherwise select from the same squad which achieved a creditable 3-3 draw with Leeds.
Dave Mulligan, Kyle Perry and Danny Glover all made substitute appearances against Gary McAllister's men and will hope to have forced their way into Sinnott's starting XI.
Shane Tudor is ruled out for the remainder of the season with a knee injury, while Colin Miles (medial ligament injury) is also sidelined.
The game is also expected to come too soon for Keith Lowe, who is nursing a badly bruised knee bone.
