Norwich midfielder Matty Pattison is set to enter rehab after allegedly being caught drink-driving while only wearing his underwear.The former Newcastle player is reputed to have gone on a bender after Norwich's defeat to Sheffield United this weekend and woke up so drunk that he believed he was late for training, even though manager Glenn Roeder had given the Canaries' first-team squad the day off.

Nonetheless Pattison, fearing he was late, is reported to have jumped into his car wearing just his pants, a T-shirt and no shoes.

According to the Daily Mirror, 'He was tailed by police halfway through the journey after he was apparently spotted driving erratically.

'When the 21-year-old pulled up outside the Norwich training ground he was arrested after police were said to have found him unsteady on his feet and slurring his words.'

Norwich chief executive Neil Doncaster said: "We understand that Matthew Pattison was arrested and has been charged with a drink-drive offence.

"We will be investigating what has happened and co-operating fully with Norfolk Constabulary."
