Wilkins praises Terriers' strikers

Wed 19 Mar, 11:00 AM

Brighton manager Dean Wilkins admitted his defence had been subjected to a tough examination after the 2-1 defeat to Huddersfield Town.Veteran pair Andy Booth and Luke Beckett led the line expertly for the Terriers and it was the latter who netted the winner from the spot after Nicky Forster's penalty cancelled out Andy Holdsworth's early opener.

Wilkins said: "Booth and Beckett gave our two young centre-halves a testing time.

"We knew what to expect when we saw both Booth and Beckett were on the team-sheet and they made it tough for us.

"We were disappointing in the first half and didn't play with enough intensity or get the ball into the box often enough.

"But after we got that penalty just after the break I honestly thought we were going on to win and it's disappointing we have lost the chance to get into the play-offs. Even so I thought our performance deserved a point."
