The 2007 season was a great one for the Peugeot Sport Spain team. Enrique Garcia Ojeda and Nicolas Vouilloz accomplished very good results last year, most notably with one-two finishes at the Barum Rally in the Czech Republic and at Rallye du Valais in Switzerland. The strong-willed campaign resulted in Intercontinental Rally Challenge drivers' and constructors' titles.
Following that world-scene success, and with international competition now part of its experience, the Peugeot Sport Spain team has decided to return this year to the Spanish Asphalt Rally Championship with the full intention of claiming both titles at home as well.
The outfit will take on the challenge aboard two Peugeot 207 Super 2000s driven by Enrique Garcia Ojeda and Oscar Garre. With both men defending the team's colours, Garcia Ojeda will offer his know-how, speed, and pace to the effort, while Garre will add a concentrated dose of determination to the campaign.
The cars will be developed and prepared specifically with the particular characteristics of the Spanish events in mind.
In addition to the official programme, Peugeot will continue to support the Peugeot Total Challenge which allows young aspiring drivers to compete at the controls of a 206 XS 1600 within a series counting seven rounds.
Luis Monzon has also decided upon driving a 207 Super 2000, with partial support coming from Peugeot Sport Spain.
