Ipswich striker Shefki Kuqi has admitted he 'feared the worst' after his second debut for the club was ruined by injury.

Kuqi signed on loan from Crystal Palace last Friday and came on as a substitute in the 2-0 win over Charlton at the weekend but lasted just 10 minutes before being carried off on a stretcher with a hamstring injury.

"I felt this sudden pain in the back of my leg," he told the club's official website.

"I've not had anything like it before and it knocked me to the floor.

"I did think the worst when I was being carried off and in the dressing room after the game.

"It was still painful the next day but I did some deep water running on Monday and it is improving all the time."

Kuqi was transfer-listed by Palace boss Neil Warnock after making an offensive gesture to the club's fans.
