Aberdeen striker Darren Mackie's 69th-minute strike against the run of play sent Celtic crashing out of the Scottish Cup as their quarter-final replay at Parkhead finished 1-0.
After being under pressure for most of the game, Aberdeen scored with their first attempt on goal after the break. Mackie fired past Artur Boruc from 12 yards out to seal the Dons' progression to the last four.
Celtic had equalised late into injury-time in the first game, but this time the Dons held firm to set up a semi-final meeting with Queen of the South on the weekend of April 12/13.
Aberdeen manager Jimmy Calderwood will wonder how his side managed to leave Parkhead with their goal intact while Celtic boss Gordon Strachan will reflect on the jeers of the Hoops fans at the final whistle.
In the 69th minute the Dons dramatically stole the lead.
Celtic failed to clear their lines and, in a busy penalty area, Dons striker Lee Miller flicked the ball through to the unmarked Mackie, who was on target.
St Mirren were swept aside 3-1 at their Love Street ground as Scottish First Division side St Johnstone cruised into the last four of the Cup.
Rocco Quinn, Andy Jackson and Peter MacDonald helped themselves to a goal apiece in the replay to secure a comfortable win.
Even an unsuccessful penalty from Paul Sheerin could not take the gloss off a victory that sets up a meeting with Rangers or Partick Thistle.
Billy Mehmet replied with a penalty for St Mirren.
