Gunners Add To Reading's Woes

Sat 19 Apr, 05:09 PM

Arsenal got back to winning ways as they cruised past relegation battlers Reading 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners - whose hopes of the title and European glory have evaporated in recent weeks - started well, with the recalled Theo Walcott impressing and striker Emmanuel Adebayor put them ahead on the half-hour.

Gilberto doubled the lead following a deflection off Reading defender Andre Bikey and it could have been more in the second half as Arsenal twice hit the woodwork.

The Royals remain in trouble at the bottom, and could be in the bottom three come the close of play tomorrow if results go the way of Bolton and Birmingham.
