Roma's Serie A title ambitions suffered a setback as they were held to a 1-1 draw by bottom side Livorno at the Stadio Olimpico on Saturday.
Mirko Vucinic had given Roma the lead shortly before the hour mark and although the Giallorossi enjoyed a hatful of chances to kill the game off, it was Livorno that found the back of the net thanks to substitute Alessandro Diamanti's free-kick with seven minutes remaining.
Roma still had a chance to grab three points but Livorno goalkeeper Marco Amelia made a stunning late save from Daniele De Rossi's close-range header to earn his team a point.
The result leaves Roma three points behind Serie A leaders Inter Milan, who play on Sunday at Torino.
The hosts were also hit before half-time when captain Francesco Totti was forced to leave the pitch following a recurrence of a knee injury.
