Holland: Keeper is our top priority

Mon 19 May, 12:45 PM

Crewe boss Steve Holland has revealed "funds are available" to him in the summer and admitted that signing a new goalkeeper is his priority. The Railwaymen have been rocked by the news that first choice goalkeeper Ben Williams has rejected a new contract and will seek pastures new, while understudy Owain fon Williams has indicated he will follow suit.

That would leaves Alex with just 23-year-old Stuart Tomlinson as the only goalkeeper on their books and Holland admits an experienced stopper is at the top of his shopping list.

"Ben has chosen to move on and if Owain decides to move on as well then finding a new number one is our top priority .

"Ideally we would like one with experience but the most important thing is to find a good one. We have some work to do but the fax machine is red hot with players' names coming through.

"As one door closes another one opens and we have funds available if the right players do present themselves."
