Mon 19 May, 11:45 AM

Ipswich Town midfielder Sylvain Legwinski admits he is considering retiring from football after being released by the Championship club. The 34-year-old midfielder made only nine starts in his final season at Portman Road despite having been the club's player of the year in 2007.

"I have to speak to a few people before I make a decision on my future," Legwinski told the club's official website.

"There may be one or two clubs that might be interested or it maybe that it is the right time for me to retire from football.

"I enjoyed my time at Ipswich very much. It was a very good move for me to join the club and being voted player of the year was very special.

"The second season was not so good but that is football. The injury I had put me back and I was always trying to catch up, which is not good at my age."
