Spireites complete Harsley switch

Chesterfield have agreed a two-year deal with Port Vale midfielder Paul Harsley after he turned down a new deal with the relegated club.The 29-year-old, who was the Valiants' captain and player of the year this season, will join the Spireites when he becomes a free agent during the summer.

Harsley said: "Although I was happy at Port Vale, I liked the sound of what was happening here and decided that Chesterfield was the better option for me."

And Chesterfield boss Lee Richardson is excited by his latest arrival, saying: "I am delighted that Paul has decided to join us as he brings a wealth of valuable experience to the squad."
