A whistle-stop tour of the weekend's events in world football.
PORTUGAL
Sporting won the Portuguese Cup for the second successive season by beating 10-man Porto 2-0 after extra-time in the final at the National Stadium.
Brazilian midfielder Rodrigo Tiui, who came on as an extra-time substitute, guided Sporting to their 15th success in the competition with a close range deflected shot on 111 minutes and followed by an acrobatic shot from inside the box six minutes later.
Porto, league champions for a third successive time, had to play with 10 men after the 71st-minute dismissal of defender Joao Paulo for a tackle on Sporting's captain Joao Moutinho. Sporting were runners-up in the League.
CZECH REPUBLIC
Slavia Prague won their first league title since 1996 after a 2-2 home draw with Jablonec on the final day saw them finish three points ahead of last season's champions Sparta, who lost 4-3 at Slovan Liberec.
UKRAINE
Shakhtar Donetsk beat city rivals Metalurg 4-1 on the final day to seal their third league title in four years and complete the domestic double after lifting the Cup earlier this month.
Shakhtar finished three points ahead of last season's champions Dynamo Kiev, who drew 2-2 at third-placed Metalist Kharkiv.
RUSSIA
CSKA Moscow came back from 2-0 down against Amkar Perm to win the Cup on penalties after their Brazilian strike partners Jo Alves and Wagner Love cancelled out goals by Nikola Drincic and Tomo Duimovic.
Both Drincic and Duimovic missed their spot kicks while CSKA converted all four penalties to win the shootout 4-1.
League leaders Rubin Kazan continued a recent patchy run with a 1-1 home draw against lowly Shinnik Yaroslavl that saw their advantage trimmed to five points.
BULGARIA
One person was seriously injured and 40 were arrested as rival fans clashed during and after CSKA Sofia's 2-1 win at Vihren Sandanski on the final day of the season.
BOSNIA
A ballboy was seriously injured when he tried to remove a flare thrown onto the field by Zrinjski Mostar fans during their city derby with Velez, whose supporters invaded the pitch and fought with riot police.
Velez won the match 1-0 while front-runners Modrica stayed on course for their first league title after a 3-2 home defeat of Sloboda Tuzla kept them a point ahead of Siroki Brijeg with two matches remaining.
SERBIA
Partizan Belgrade closed in on their 20th league title after a 1-0 home win against Hajduk Kula left them three points ahead of city rivals Red Star.
Titleholders Red Star, who beat neighbours OFK Belgrade 1-0 at home, need to win at Hajduk on Sunday and Partizan to lose at Napredak Krusevac if they are to retain the title with a better head-to-head record against Partizan.
HUNGARY
Leaders MTK Budapest and champions Debrecen continued their neck-to-neck title race as they both won at home to stay level on points with two games left.
A Joszef Kanta Brace helped MTK to a 5-1 rout of Tatabanya and kept them ahead on goal difference while Debrecen cruised to a 3-0 win over relegated Tatabanya.
BRAZIL
Palmeiras emerged from a troubled week by beating nine-man Internacional 2-1 in the Brazilian championship while Gallo became the second coach to quit in less than one week when he resigned after Figueirense's 2-1 win over Coritiba.
Titleholders Sao Paulo drew 1-1 at Atletico Paranaense, picking up their first point of the championship, despite fielding a reserve team before next week's Libertadores Cup tie against Fluminense.
Kleber Pereira scored a hat-trick to help Santos beat Ipatinga 4-0 while Cruzeiro and Nautico are the only teams with six points from their opening two games. Cruzeiro beat Botafogo 1-0 and Nautico won 2-0 at Fluminense.
ARGENTINA
San Lorenzo coach Ramon Diaz was sent off for throwing an object back into the crowd during his team's 0-0 draw at Huracan in the Argentine championship.
San Lorenzo, fourth in the Clausura championship, fell five points behind leaders Estudiantes with four matches each to play. Estudiantes, who beat Gimnasia-La Plata 2-1 on Saturday in a match that produced four red cards, have 33 points from 15 games.
River Plate dropped two points behind Estudiantes when they were held 0-0 by Independiente. Independiente, who had won their previous five games, are fifth with 27 points.
MEXICO
San Luis and Santos Laguna completed the line-up for the Mexican championship semi-finals in controversial fashion.
San Luis held on for a 0-0 draw at Toluca in their second leg, going through on their better overall record in the competition after the tie ended 1-1 on aggregate, despite Toluca claims of a last minute penalty.
Santos Laguna went through after a controversial penalty converted by Juan Pablo Rodriguez in the 80th minute gave them a 1-1 draw with Necaxa and a 3-2 aggregate win.
Monterrey, who beat Guadalajara 8-5 on aggregate, and Cruz Azul, who beat Chiapas on their better overall record after a 2-2 aggregate draw, qualified on Saturday.
