Cory Jane has refuted claims he is poised to join the Llanelli Scarlets, declaring his preference is to remain in New Zealand.

The 26-year-old New Zealand and Hurricanes full-back (pictured) had reportedly been the number one target of the Welsh club as a replacement for the injured Morgan Stoddart.

"I'm not going there. I'm not going anywhere. I'm contracted until the end of the year and my goal is to make the All Blacks and do well in the Super 14 and try to get to the final and win it," he said.

Jane made his All Blacks debut on last year's end of year tour when he came on as a substitute in the match against Australia in Hong Kong.

He earned a second cap against Scotland before starting in the historic match against Munster.

The talented full-back, who also won a Commonwealth Games gold medal in Sevens in 2006, is keen to pledge his immediate future to New Zealand.

"I'm happy in New Zealand. I've got a new child on the way in October so I'm not in a rush to go anywhere. I want to make the All Blacks, that's my goal," he said.

"I still want to be a Hurricane and a Wellington Lion so hopefully they give me another contract or pick me.

"I haven't done any deals anywhere or talked to anyone about that. My goal is this year. I'll worry about that (contract) when it comes to the end of the year."
