England midfielder David Beckham believes Chelsea would be getting "one of the greats" if they lure AC Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti to Stamford Bridge.
The former England skipper has spent the second half of the season playing under Ancelotti at the San Siro and revealed the Milan players are "pleading" with their boss not to leave.
Beckham told The Sun: "Carlo Ancelotti's man-management skills are exceptional. He is a brilliant coach."
He added: "To have played under a manager of his quality is a real privilege. He is one of the greats.
"I have been lucky in my career to play under a few of the best in the business and he comes into that category.
"I just wish I had been able to play for him for many more years. It has been a lot of fun.
"Every single one of the Milan players adores him and doesn't want him to go. They are pleading with him to stay.
"I know wherever he goes, and whatever he does, he will always have my admiration and respect."
Beckham insists Ancelotti can also be fiery as well as friendly.
"He is a low-key, private type of person. But there is another side to him. While I have never had the 'hairdryer' type treatment, I have seen it from him," said the former Manchester United winger.

'hairdryer' treatment is nothing, bring on the flying football boots!
he will do gd if he becomes new maniger hope he buys ashley young zhirkov and carlos tevez and brings pato and pirlo wid him. hope he gets rid of ballack kalou and deco.
Hiddink did gr8 at bridge during his short rein... but Carlo Ancelotti should get ready to leave as other unsuccessful managers cos I dont see him staying beyound first half of the season hope u prove me wrong Mr Ancelotti... Great manager?
Guusn is going unfortunately - Roman won't stiff the Russian FA - but how about this idea - bring him back after the world cup permanet - until then executive role with Wilkins and someone with the right badges taking temporary charge. - just an idea
Let's have Claudio back one of my favorite managers. We might not win much but it will be fun.I would rather him than Ancelloti.

i was expecting guss to stay but if not, i would like frank rijard to come but please not anchelloti
One and only Guss we care! Guss Please don't go.
We believe more on Hiddink not Anceloti, i think he believes on over aged players who are over there thirtees, maybe berkhamp is saying this so the man can bring him along to chelsea, NO NO Hiddink pleas stay if is just four seasons so we can show our critics like man utd, liverpool, barca and the rest that we can win tripple in one season

Work on keeping GUUS here
i agree no.2 he'll end up been sacked like scolari half way through the season and were back to square one again, let hiddink combine jobs and we'll win league next season, CHELSEA FANS LOVE GUUS !!!
It does`nt matter who Chelsea get as manager they need stability and a manager that lasts more than a few months. Had we had Guus from the start of the season Chelsea would have won the lot. Sir Alex is a great manager but Chelsea are a great team
go away ancelotti, you are not wanted at the bridge,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
yeah that will work shoutin in italian at terry frank alex etc we just got rid of a coach that didnt speak english guus came (with his english) and turned the season around one step forward three steps back same old chelsea!
