Faye pride at prize

Tue, 19 May 13:02:29 2009

Stoke defender Abdoulaye Faye has spoken of his pride at being named players' player of the year.

Faye has missed just one league game since arriving from Newcastle for £2.25 million last August and captained the team for the last five months in the absence of Andy Griffin.

Faye said: "I'm very proud for the team, for the supporters, for my family and for everyone at Stoke."

An enigma - when under pressure at SJP, he was dreadful and made countless errors that always resulted in goals for the opposition. Nervous beyond belief, the guy was a quivering jelly.
I can't explain how he perorms better away from SJP, just like Bramble at Wigan; oh yes i can, it's called pressure! No pressure at smaller clubs, in front of small crowds - no disrespect meant.
Well done Stoke on defying your critics (including me) and surviving - more than my joke of a team managed!!!!
