Blackburn captain Ryan Nelsen has been ruled out of the Premier League match against West Brom on Sunday.
The New Zealand defender pulled a calf muscle in the defeat by Chelsea at the weekend and his season is over.
However, on-loan full-back Gael Givet is expected to recover from a similar injury in time for the final game of the campaign.
Manager Sam Allardyce said: "Ryan will definitely be out but Gael should be okay."
