Royals unlikely to return for Kitson

Reading director of football Nick Hammond does not expect Dave Kitson to return to the Madejski for a third time next season.

Stoke striker Kitson returned to the Madejski Stadium for the final months of the season on loan but failed to make an impact as the Royals crashed out in the play-offs.

"Kits is now a Stoke player," Hammond told the Reading Evening Post. "There was no agreement that he would sign permanently had we gone up. That would have been a discussion you can only have at the end of the season."

  1. It's a pity Reading didn't want him, he was no­ use to us at Stoke and I can't see us getting much­ for him when we sell him!
