Rangers boss Walter Smith will encourage Fulham to reignite their interest in Daniel Cousin if he manages to get Kyle Lafferty on board.But Fulham are not the only admirers of Cousin, with Sunderland boss Roy Keane also believed to be monitoring his situation.
The Gers accepted a £3million offer from the Cottagers for the striker last season - but FIFA blocked the move as he had also played for French side Lens earlier in the campaign.
Cousin himself was keen on a move to London - and no longer features prominently in Smith's first-team at Ibrox, where Kenny Miller has arrived to add competition to an already-brimming forward line.
The Gers are also trying to sign Burnley hitman Lafferty, with Alan Gow's hesitation over a switch to Turf Moor holding up the deal.
But if Smith lands the Northern Ireland star, he will be looking to offload Cousin in a cut-price deal - and Roy Hodgson could make a move following Brian McBride's decision to leave the club.
Keane, meanwhile, has openly admitted that he is actively searching for striker reinforcements following last season's reliance on Kenwyne Jones, who is currently injured.
The Black Cats boss has plenty of money to spend this summer, but has targeted Aidan McGeady and Darren Bent as his big-money signings, and has been linked with a £1.5million bid for Cousin.

brian.asher - You say that Cousin isn't the world class striker Sunderland need to rely on. What do you expect for £1.5 million, (world class strikers cost at least 25-30 million - and Kenwyne Jones certainly isn't world class, not by a lony way).
And anyway while Jones might put himself about more Cousin is definately the better goalscorer out of the two.
And I don't think Keane,if he buys Cousin, will be looking on him as a replacement. When Jones is fit again I think that the two of them could form quite an affective partnership up front.
1.5 isn't bad for Cousin, but he is not the world class striker the Black Cats need to rely on.
