AFP/Pierre-Philippe Marcouview photoLONDON (AFP) - Liverpool striker Fernando Torres has told Manchester United and Barcelona toforget about trying to lure him from Anfield.
Torres recently signed a new contract with the Premier League club but reports this week suggested United may use some of the cash from their imminent world record sale of Cristiano Ronaldo to make a 50 million pounds bid for the Spain star.
Barcelona have also been linked with Torres but the former Atletico Madrid forward insist he is happy in England.
"I'm very happy with my contract at Liverpool and wouldn't leave just to earn a little more somewhere else where I wouldn't be that happy," he told the Daily Mail.
"To want any more would be greedy and that is not me. As long as Liverpool want me, I will stay.
"Madrid obviously are spending lots of money and I'm sure that United boss Sir Alex Ferguson will be looking for a big name to replace Ronaldo, but I'm very excited about what the boss is doing here at Liverpool.
"A lot of players have committed themselves to Liverpool with new contracts and players don't do that unless they think they can have their ambitions met.
"There is a lot of belief at the club and a lot of trust in the manager. I sincerely believe I will win the Premier League and the European Cup here. The winning tradition is very clear at Liverpool. I want to be involved in a little piece of their history."

Its crazy to think anyone thought he would move to another club!
Unlike Ronaldo who didn't want to play for ManU! Torres want's to play for Liverpool!
He is loyal to his club and probably the best striker in the world -a true Liverpool legend in the making..
He'll soon change his mind in couple of years from now when Liverpool are not even playing champions league football due to mounting debts and lack of investment, he'll be banging on the doors of Old trafford shouting 'déjeme en señor alex'.

Well in Torres he is playing for a club who he has always wanted to play for and the fans adore him. We need more players like him. I think Glen Johnson will be a good signing he is playing some good football at present if he comes Rafa needs to play him all the time and not keep swaping. But saying that he never hardly changes the back four when they are settled. We only need a right winger then.
His very optimistic but Liverpool need to start winning in order to keep their goal scorer, he would go to Real Madrid or Barca if the team doesnt get anywhere this season.
i think torres will stay this season but if liverpool dont win any silverware this season he will be off next year

Typical of the man, someone youngsters can look up to, not like most of the rest of the overpaid prema donnas. He'll be at Liverpool a long long time.
