Premier League newcomers Burnley have lodged an official bid for Swansea's Jason Scotland.
Scotland's agent, Mike Berry, revealed that the Clarets had bid in excess of £1 million for the Welsh club's 24-goal top-scorer.
Chairman Huw Jenkins told the club's official website: "Burnley have made an approach for Jason Scotland, but our valuation for a player who has finished our top scorer for the last two seasons is miles apart. We value Jason very highly; after all he has scored 53 goals in the last two seasons for us."
The Swans signed Scotland in the summer of 2007, paying just £25,000 to bring him from St Johnstone where he played under current Burnley boss Owen Coyle.
But Jenkins dashed any immediate hopes of a reunion at Turf Moor, adding; "I think everyone in football is well aware that we do not need to sell anyone. And we certainly won't let any player go for below what we think they are worth; whether that's Jason Scotland or anyone else for that matter."
Berry, who also claimed Wigan were interested in the 30-year-old Trinidad and Tobago international, said: "Jason would like Swansea to seriously consider the bid because he has aspirations to play in the Premier League."

I guess trumpet billy is a B******s fan, who wouldn't know football if it bit him in the arse. If that is the case here's a thought for you, when was the last time you filled your ground, (even with throw backs from Accrington or Hyndburn or even Haslingden ha ha ) In fact everybody has forgotten about Blackburn because there so bloody boring. As for money we can proudly state "BUILT NOT BOUGHT", how are they going to survive now the moneys run out at Ewood. Build a new ground!! that defies everything we have - TRADITION!! Bye Bye.
So the Dingles finaly arrive at the proper end of the football league at last?? taken a while then? but i suppose it does comming from the depths of despare only to go back there next season! Manager not paying over 30 bob a week for his players eh thats just typical of the attitude of the Dingles in general perhaps you might even play a prem side that turns out its full side instead of the under 5s like they did against you last year but at 2/5 on for relegation i very much doubt any proper side would risk its finest players against a cobbled street side of kickers and punchers still we will have to wait and see wont we! on a brighter note if you could sell your ground to barrats you might be able to buy a decent old last legs player again! and as for buying Scotland? if you bought and played all the country you wouldnt win a game. ha ha ha.
I'll back the top 4 being relegated, gets a bit predictable, maybe they should go off and start there own league, bring back some English Football!
He needs to spend and fast as time is running out..............hope he has been watching the uefa under 21 tournament for new blood because there are some ace players there...............a bit of flair will not do Burnley any harm and with the bulldog attitude they have they should be ok......................Come on OC get that purse open and splash the cash!!!
Man City,Chelsea and Man Utd to be relegated. (Hopefully lol)
Sounds like a good buy for BFC, sign him Owen, need a finisher! WELL SAID ROY T, I keep checking but they havent moved us yet, probably be different if we were called *** Utd, or Che**ea, SORT IT OUT YAHOO OR I'M GOING TO BBC SPORT PAGES!!
Thanx Pham Duc for the encouragement but someone should tell yahoo eurosport that we are in the premiership as they have still got us in the fizzy pop league.
All they seem to do is take the football news from both the bbc and itv teletext pages. But saying that even those teetext pages have got us in their premiership pages.
I thought Donald Trump bought Scotland ?.
He missed so many chances he should have scored 50 and got us into the prem! Take the money!!
wow who cares
WELCOME to PL, BURNLEY. I wish you will stay as long as you want.
