Rumours about a Van Persie bid will be worrying for Arsenal fans se to lose Emmanuel Adebayor after his love affair with the Emirates faithful lost its spark when he openly flirted with other 'girls', particularly Milan's Beyonce.

But do United fans even want Van Persie?

The Dutchman would fit into their system since he is as comfortable playing at wide forward as he is through the middle.

He would be significantly cheaper than the astronomical figures being bandied about for the likes of Franck Ribery, David Villa - who looks unlikely to come to England - and Karim Benzema, and would need no time to adjust to Premier League football.

But he is worryingly injury-prone and, for all his talent, not a natural finisher. He would be very similar to Dimitar Berbatov in terms of the positions he takes up and his contribution to the team.

Van Persie takes a mean free-kick though, something no-one left at United can really do.

    All this goes to show that the Mna Utd squad is not as­ strong as you all shout about it. why are they so­ worried, just becaue Ronaldo and Tevez ( who realy­ starts) are leaving. they are now desperately looking­ for players. did Henry, Helb and Flamini not leave­ Arsenal last season?.

I read comments here with total dismay, how can some­ people say that Van persie is not good enough for Man­ utd, is Berbartov better than him?, both in experience­ and proven quality in the Premier league Van- Persie­ has more goals to his name than Tevez, Berbartov and­ Nani, yet deluded Man utd fans thinks he is not good­ enough. Anyways, Van Persie is better off as an Arsenal­ player. A class player any day.

  19. I don't think for a miniute that Arsene Wenger will­ sell one of his best players to his biggest rivals. Man­ U can bid as much as they like, I can't see Arsenal­ releasing him. This is probably just papaer talk.
