Kirk Broadfoot is confident he will still be a Rangers player next season despite uncertainty over his Ibrox future.
The 24-year-old's agent has been trying to secure an improved deal for the Scotland full-back, whose current contract expires in a year's time and though a new deal has so far not been forthcoming - reportedly due to Rangers' financial problems - he is confident he has not played his last game for the club.
He said: "I get the feeling that I'm wanted here. I've been told that. I don't see me moving in the near future."
Broadfoot had established himself as the first-choice right-back at Ibrox before being sidelined three months ago by a foot injury and is expected to be out until November after undergoing surgery.
"After rehab, hopefully I can get fit and strong enough to push for a starting place again. That's what I'm looking forward to," said Broadfoot, who refused to put a timescale on his recovery but is desperate to play a part in Rangers' Champions League campaign
"It just depends on how quickly and well my rehab goes.
"Every player wants to play in the Champions League and it's great for a club like Rangers to be back in it.
"From a player's point of view, it's the biggest stage you can play at in club football.
"Just now, it's just about resting really. I'm about a month into it - it's three months without any weight bearing.
"After that, my rehab will start but for the moment I'm sitting about, keeping it elevated and keeping myself occupied."

Metz old bhoy I have no time for bigots either side of the mountain, was not brought up that way, make ur own choices was my teachings from the old fella and I did not say that Rangers fans were bigots and hoop fans were not....what I am saying is im a footie fan with no time for bigots wether that be Rangers or Celtic
#7 & all bears are bigots??????????? You really are narrow minded if thats what you think. In 41yrs I have met more tic that are bigots than blue noses and if you dont believe me,take a triup over to west belfast & see for your self
Metz....I go to Ibrox every second week nearly...and Bhoyd and Clubfoot stay just up the road...Celtic always was and always will be my team though...AGAIN IM A FOOTIE FAN NOT A BIGOT
Stuart,u seem to know a lot of the 1st team personally,u sure you not a blue nose?
Paul G.....I know this guy personally and he will tell you himself that hes the luckiest guy in the world to be playing for Rangers...he will also tell you that hes a center half but will play anywhere to get a game...added to that he believes that he will be out till Nov, as the op went wrong and had to be re-done and if Whittaker is playing well he will be on the bench
He is scotland quality is he not? played great for scotland so why is he not rangers quality?
A.K...cmon are you saying that the guy is Rangers quality?....Brackish good 1 m8
He'd better not ask for too much otherwise he might end up with egg on his face!!!
big kirk has proven his worth at ibrox. he is a big hit eith the ibrox fans , he was left holding the fort when hutton left and done a very good job until his injury , he deserves a renewal of contract as he is getting better every season . BAWZOOT
