Port Vale youngster Danny Edwards has become the fourth member of Micky Adams` squad to sign a new contract this week.

Adams has handed Edwards a 12-month deal - his first professional contract - and Edwards is relishing the prospect of pushing for a first-team place.

He said: "I am pleased to be making the step up from the youth team and I know I am going to have to work hard in pre-season to prove myself and to get into the first team squad."

The versatile 18 year-old has was involved in the first team squad last season but has yet to make an appearance for the Valiants.
