Newcastle keeper Steve Harper has warned his team-mates they will have to scrap their way out of the Coca-Cola Championship.
The 34-year-old is as desperate as anyone at St James' Park to see the club's immediate future resolved but whatever else happens off the pitch during the remaining weeks of pre-season, Harper knows exactly what to expect once hostilities resume on August 8 at fellow former Barclays Premier League side West Brom.
"We will be a scalp. The big club going down will be a cup final for everybody," said Harper.
"Everywhere we go, we have to make sure we are up for it.
"It's going to be a massive challenge. Everybody I have spoken to says how tough it is.
"You have two games a week and everybody is fighting to get into the Premier League - and that's what we have to do."

Oh that's easy John . . . . he is so full of shyte he needs a wheelbarrow to carry it all around with him.
impact, now that you have mastered the copy and paste technique can I just point out a few of it's advantages. It can be used as an excellent tool to back yourself up in arguments and disputes etc.
for instance, here is a comment you posted:-

I draw your attention to the word "WE", conclusive proof that you are either an avid Toon fan and have been having us on all this time or you are so full of shyte you need a wheelbarrow to carry it all around with you, great innit. Which are you.
impact, is that really all you have got, you sad sad sad little little little man. Go for a pint man it will do you the world of good.
This is the first comment that one of our players has made that has convinced me he is actually up for the fight.I know most of our players are mental, but this lad has one of the biggest tools, and I for one am happy to have him between the sheets next season, there wont be many bed warmers like him in the Championship.

Well said Harper. Good honest words. Pity the Toon didn`t have another 10 players with the same attitude.
To all SAFC fans, putting our rivalry aside for just one second, on behalf of myself, cameron and hutch/rabbit, we promise not to raid you.
Whats an SAFC raider?

Sad part is that it can actually talk sense when it wants to; unfortunately, it rather delights in being a tool!

John, forget his tosh article, read the comments - so funny!
cameron, I remember you tipped me off before, scarey is'nt he.
I read one of Parkers articles once and although I thought he was a decent player he was so far off the mark that I never read anymore.
John, Jack: do you guys ever read Paul Parker's blog?
The articles are dreadful, but the comments he rightfully recieves have me in stitches!
Honestly, if you thought us NUFC fans come in for some stick you should read the comments he gets every week for his piece . . . truly hilarious and highly recommended reading, the perfect pick-me-up for anyone who is having a bad day!
John, just beware, pianomusiclive is barrygroves AKA impactunclean
