Kuqi has options

Fri 19 Jun, 03:19 PM

Crystal Palace striker Shefki Kuqi is thought to be a summer transfer target for Middlesbrough and West Brom.

The 32-year-old Finland international is out of contract at Selhurst Park and has yet to put pen to paper on the new deal he has been offered.

"I've not made a decision yet - I want more time to think," Kuqi told the Croydon Advertiser.

"A couple of clubs that have come down from the Premier League have shown an interest in me."

Palace boss Neil Warnock remains hopeful of landing young West Ham frontman Freddie Sears on loan, but faces competition from Peterborough and Sheffield Wednesday.

  5. Are you forgetting that albion has Beattie,He's a lump also....

Bedner will stay,an so will Moore(he won't move anywhere)

there talk of a Garcia loan move, but i think its paper talk.

Quite frankly,i'd rather albion concentrate on getting a amanager, then let him pick the squad...

Keep to being an acountant mr Peace, suggest potentual transfers and keep book, not intervine with the squad.

Moore was part of the Davies deal,i'd rather havetaken nothing.

  6. Great news for palace to see WBA and boro flirting with kuqi. Take him quickly he is past it. Any chance WBA will swop Kuqi for Miller? Not looking good for WBA and Boro in the championship if they think Kuqi is the answer!

  7. I hope this is just paper talk cos in all honesty why the hell would we want some two bit, ancient chump like Kuqi who cant even hold down a place at Palace??
We now have one striker (Miller when fit), Bednar, Moore, Simpson and Fortune all out so in my reckoning we need 2 more? Any suggestions?
Midfield is fine, though swap 2 pretty boys (Valero and Kim) for a ball winner (Ferguson).
Go balls out to pay some wages for a central defender who knows what he is doing and can organise the others. Get Carson back to form,... oh i forgot to mention we need a manager! please not Boothroyd!

  8. Tend to agree with Robert on this. Are we interested because he is cheap ? How many
goals has he scored in the last couple of seasons ? No idea, but don't think its many.
Would have been better off keeping Phillips.

Kuqi coming to West Brom??HaHaHaHa..We don't have a manager and yet we're supposed to be looking at 32 yr old strikers from the Championship!!!!Who on earth makes up these stories??Middlesbrough are welcome to him, though I honestly don't think that even Mr Southgate would be that silly..Maybe Newcastle??Well they are going to have to sell all their high-earners and recruit experienced Championship players :) Boing Boing
