Burton boss Paul Peschisolido has his sights set on signing a midfielder.

The unnamed player is currently under contract with another club so the Football League newcomers would have to pay a fee for his services.

"The player I have my eyes on is a very exciting prospect who is currently under contract, which means we will have to pay a little bit of compensation," Peschisolido told the Burton Mail.

"But that is something we are prepared to do because I think he will be an asset to us. He is a player who wants to improve himself, has lots of desire and hunger and will fight for the cause.

"He is speaking to his current manager to try to sort things out at his end and hopefully there will be a positive outcome.

"I will be chuffed to bits if we can get him because he is exactly the sort of player we want at the club."
