John Sheridan insists he has no plans to make former Oldham captain Sean Gregan his first signing as Chesterfield manager.

The 34-year-old defender has been linked with a move to Saltergate and a reunion with Sheridan after being told by new Latics boss Dave Penney that he will not be offered a new contract.

But Sheridan, who signed Gregan when he was boss at Oldham, said: "I have no interest in Sean, but I am looking around to see who is available."
