Lisbie to fight for Town place

Sat 19 Jul, 02:45 PM

Kevin Lisbie has admitted he is ready to raise his game after finally signing for Ipswich Town from League One side Colchester United. The 29-year-old has completed his protracted transfer from relegated Colchester and insisted he is ready to oust the likes of Pablo Counago and Alan Lee from the Tractor Boys' attack.

He said: "It was getting a bit frustrating waiting for the transfer to happen so I am just glad it's all done now.

"I had offers from several clubs but it was always going to be Ipswich for me.

"They play football the right way and that's not about to change.

"I scored 17 goals in a side that got relegated last season but there is far more competition here so I know I will have to work even harder."
