Arsenal's youngsters proved the future is bright with a 2-1 success over Barnet at Underhill in the annual friendly on Saturday. The Gunners did start with the likes of Manuel Almunia, Bacary Sagna, Gael Clichy, Theo Walcott, Nicklas Bendtner on show, while £5million summer signing Aaron Ramsey also made his first start.
However, it was the League Two side who opened the scoring and deservedly so through Kenny Gillet, who beat Almunia down low at his near post.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger gave all 24 of his squad a run-out in the second half as the Premier League side turned the game around.
Firstly Jay Simpson, who spent time with Millwall last season, finished off a fine move from eight-yards out before teenage Dutch striker Nacer Barazite secured the win on 73 minutes.
