Wenger Expects Adebayor Back

Arsene Wenger expects striker Emmanuel Adebayor to turn up for Arsenal pre-season training on Monday.

Togo striker Adebayor, who finished top scorer for the Gunners last season with 30 goals, has made it clear through comments in the media that he wants an improved deal.

But Wenger clearly has no intention of letting Arsenal be held to ransom over excessive wage demands from any of his players.

After watching Arsenal's 2-1 pre-season friendly win over Barnet, Wenger told Sky Sports News: "Adebayor is under contract and we expect him to turn up on Monday and practice with us."

Arsenal head off for their pre-season training camp in Austria at the end of this month and will return for the Emirates Cup - hosting Juventus and Real Madrid, as well Hamburg under former Tottenham manager Martin Jol.

The Gunners will complete their preparations for the new season with an appearance at the Amsterdam Tournament ahead of the Champions League qualifier on August 12/13.

  1. If Adebayor becomes heady and disobidient to a club that made him then it's high time we let him go. The number of goal chances he lost was more than number of goals scored. i think he has raeched his peak at the club,let him go.

  5. If Adebayor aint happy he should be sold.His stock is high at the moment. Selling him will bring in cool cash to bring in the likes of the hunter from Ajax or Samuel Eto'o from Barca. I believe these players are far better plalyers than Adebayor.
    Adebayor was only Arsenals highest goal scorer due to the fact that he was the key striker and of course we know that the service from the Arsenal midfield is second to none.they create lots of openings.Ade even missed so much chances that he desrves to be named the highesst goal looser of the season.
    Lset him go so we can bring in some quality.
