SFA and Celtic look for fresh start

Tue, 19 Jul 20:19:43 2011

The Scottish Football Association and Celtic on Tuesday night signalled their intent to move on from their disputes of last season as Parkhead chief executive Peter Lawwell accepted a place on the governing body's new professional game board.

Lawwell was named on the 10-man panel which will rule over the professional game in Scotland.

Celtic and the SFA clashed on numerous occasions last season. Referee Dougie McDonald quit amid pressure from Celtic after misleading manager Neil Lennon over his reasons for withdrawing a penalty award.

The two parties then became embroiled in legal disputes over disciplinary procedures after Lennon was handed two touchline bans.

But Celtic backed SFA chief executive Stewart Regan's radical reforms, which were unanimously approved at the June AGM, and Lawwell aims to help the governing body move forward.

Elsewhere, Kilmarnock have signed former Celtic striker Ben Hutchinson on a short-term deal following a successful trial.

I never asked you to justify it rob, i asked you to explain it, which you haven't done! I don't think there's any more mileage in this thread with you, you obviously just want to name call and denigrate. A wee bit of advice for you, let's just leave it there and you can go back to your hive and tell everybody you 'set about' big bad Lys.
Seems like you're the only one whos opinion counts, but that is more a failing on your part than mine; Im done with you!
You elevate intolerance and abuse to an artform!

  8. there you go again acting the high and mighty and ' i'm so intelligent'. i don't have to justify what i said . it's my opinion and i'm sure it's also the opinion of many other fans. it's been a great source of banter with my sellik minded friends who did'nt even attempt to defend it unlike you. as far as ignorant and intolerable wee planks go, you must have been looking in the mirror when you thought that one up.

But we all know it's a board game billy, if it's not decised by boards, it's decided on boards; any way up, It'll make no difference to the fact that SFA stands for Sweet Feck All, and will do until they prove otherwise.

  10. There’s a glaring blunder in the topic-storyline – it sates ‘new professional game board’ – should read - new professional ‘board’(as in table) game

Sorry rob, but I might just be missing the point here, I'm not the one who came on impugning somebody's name without the slightest justification, but somehow I'm in the wrong because I asked you a couple of questions on that subject, (questions incidentally which you have failed to answer), and that makes me some kind of 'saddo', and not you!
But somehow you feel qualified to pass an opinion on what you perceive me to be, based on that.
When you have the hole you're in deep enough Rob, you shoulld really stop digging, or there's a danger you'll just come across as an ignorant and intolerant wee plank!

  12. you really can't help yourself lysdick can you. what a sad individual you are. just a bitter wee guy who thinks he can talk a good game. get a life saddo.

Coming from a guy who thinks that somebody can 'fabricate' a tour of Japan, I don't think anybody needs to demonstrate any kind of 'superior than you' response!

From Lysdexic., on Wed 20 Jul 6:19
  14. oh what a surprise. lysdick is the first one to respond with his usual snider. anyone with an ounce of intelligence knew what he was up to. the s.f.a. were too spineless to stand up to him. don't know what bain has to do with anything. can't think of one benefit rangers got from his position. ps save me the ' i'm superior than you ' response.

Typical Rangers paranoia setting in; getting all the excuses lined up for when Whispering Sally fails to deliver. Helluva difference when you don't have a couple of homers on a board or two, Celtic fans will understand though, they've had to live with that very thing for many years now.

  16. what a laugh the SFA are becoming!! Septic complained all of last season all the about this and that and then all off a sudden their the best thing since sliced bread!!!! So should all other SPL clubs start spitting the dummy and the SfA will start courting with their chairman or chief excutives!!! This is absolutely ludicrous Septic had more decisions for them than against last season... Is this the start of Refs in their pocket?? would not bet against it.. remember Walter Smiths comment on ref Thomson after the League cup final... 'He was playing a dangerous game' yip sure was MAGOOO should have been sent off and changed his penalty award within a second or two. Well at least when the Gers win the League again this season there can be no excusses from Septic and thier fans.. 54 and counting bears

How do you 'fabricate' a tour of Japan?
Did he send cardboard cut-outs or something and send back fictitious results and made up footage of football matches? If he went to those lengths, maybe you're right; aside from that Rangers are knackered this year then eh? No Bain on a 'board' this term!

From Lysdexic., on Wed 20 Jul 5:16
  18. the sellik fans didn't trust the s.f.a. because an ex gers man gordon smith was employed by them. it's going to be the other way round now as gers fans will be watching for liewells influence on contentious matters. after all, is this not the same guy who fabricated a tour of japan to win a title. he showed then what kind of person he is and what lengths he'll go to.

From robforties, on Wed 20 Jul 4:54
  19. Lawell on the game board . . aw naw !
    There's no need.
Just let Celtic get a few penalty decisions and all will be well with the SFA !!
    Still lookin' for handouts . . . .
Gyro's come to mind eh ?
