Boothroyd: Rasiak will produce

Tue 19 Aug, 01:01 PM

Watford manager Adrian Boothroyd is confident that new signing Grzegorz Rasiak will be amongst the goals for the Hornets this season.Boothroyd has brought the 29-year-old Poland international striker in on loan from Southampton and insists that he has the killer touch in front of goal that his squad is lacking in the Championship.

Boothroyd said: "I knew I was looking for someone who was going to get us goals and I'm sure he'll do just that with the service he'll be getting.

"He's not blessed with a massive amount of pace, but he's an aerial threat and a poacher and that's what I think we're lacking.

"I told him that I was very ambitious and the only way that I can have my ambitions met is by winning and you're only going to win by scoring goals.

"And that's where he comes in - he didn't take much persuading."
