Colchester captain Chris Coyne has set his sights on getting his place back in the starting line-up at the Weston Homes Community Stadium. The centre-back has been named as a substitute for the U's first two games of the season but is determined to win his place back in the first XI.
The 29-year-old is currently preparing for Australia's international with South Africa at Loftus Road on Wednesday but has one-eye on matters with the League One side.
He told the Gazette: "The lads have done well over the last couple of games but I'm no good to anyone sitting on my backside.
"I want to be playing and I'll be making sure that I'll be pushing hard to try and get my first-team place back.
"The national team is a bonus for me - but I know that club football is my bread and butter."
