Leeds midfielder Jonathan Douglas, who lost the club captaincy in the summer, has rejected a three-month loan to League One rivals Southend.The Republic of Ireland international, 26, is yet to make a League One appearance for Leeds this season, though he did come on as a substitute for Jonathan Howson in the 5-2 Carling Cup win over Chester last week.
The Shrimpers secured a three-month loan deal for Chelsea midfielder Lee Sawyer on Monday.
