Pearce makes Iron loan switch

Birmingham City defender Krystian Pearce has joined Scunthorpe United on a one-month loan deal to provide cover for the Iron's defence.The England Under-19 international, who has yet to make his full Blues debut, had spells at Port Vale and Notts County last season.

"I found out (Scunthorpe) were interested a couple of weeks ago," Pearce told the Iron's official website.

"Through England Under-19s I know Jack Cork was here last season. He's told me how good the club is."

Birmingham goalkeeper Artur Krysiak and striker Sone Aluko have already been loaned out by manager Alex McLeish.

Pearce, 18, provides cover for the Iron's absent defenders Kenny Milne and Andy Crosby (both knee), Izzy Iriekpen (groin) and David Mirfin (suspension).
